Expo Beton 2025. TFM highlights its achievements in the direction of sustainable development
Tenke Fungurume Mining, one of the largest mining companies in the Democratic Republic of Congo, participated in the 9th edition of Expo Béton held from April 16 to 19, 2025 in Lubumbashi, capital of the Haut-Katanga province.

With the theme "The Southern Corridors of the DRC-SADC: Projects to be developed and business opportunities", this flagship event was dedicated to infrastructure development, urban planning and special economic zones in the DRC. The TFM delegation to the forum, approximately 10 people, was led by Deputy Director General John Woto. This edition was an opportunity for TFM to unveil its achievements in various sectors, including infrastructure, technological innovation and social responsibility, in general. Kassongo Bin Nassor, President of the Chamber of Mines, and Hugo Sinza, Director of External Relations, who were at the forefront as panelists, were the champions. Their interventions were focused, on the one hand, on the challenges and prospects related to the adequacy of human resources to the challenges of industrial investments and public works, in strategic infrastructure and, on the other hand, the improvement of the business climate, a promise for the future for our youth and the economic transformation for the DRC. TFM panelists highlighted the company's investments with a strong structuring impact, and therefore at the heart of all sustainable development. These achievements can be seen throughout the dealership. These include, among others, the electrification of the urban centers of Fungurume and Tenke, the improvement of access to drinking water to counter waterborne diseases, the construction and equipment of health infrastructure to facilitate access to quality health care. In addition, TFM financed road paving works in Fungurume and Tenke, as well as agricultural feeder roads to facilitate the transport of goods and people. As education is the pillar par excellence of sustainable development, TFM's support in this sector touches on several areas, including access, improving the quality of education and governance. Finally, as agriculture is the main economic activity in the region, TFM has created opportunities for local farmers to improve their yields and, as a result, contribute to improving food security in the region, on the one hand, and improving household incomes on the other.

On the closing day of the 9th edition of Expo Béton, TFM presented a souvenir gift to Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka.
