TFM's training centre receives official approval from the Congolese State
The Tenke Fungurume Mining (TFM) training center recently received official approval from the Congolese state, marking a significant step forward in the professionalization of young Congolese and the promotion of local employment in the province of Lualaba. With this recognition, TFM becomes the very first private company in the Democratic Republic of Congo to obtain such accreditation.

This decision was officially announced by His Excellency Marc Ekila Likombio, Minister of Vocational Training, during his visit to the TFM mining site. With this accreditation, the company is now able to issue nationally recognized training certificates — a development that management describes as strategic. "This is a great honour and a privilege for us. This recognition reassures us and encourages us to redouble our efforts to offer young people quality training, in line with the requirements of the job market. The accreditation now allows us to issue certifications recognized by the Congolese state, which is a major asset given the breadth and diversity of our programs," said Ivan Kalonda, TFM's Chief Human Resources Officer.

For Didi Kalombo, Superintendent of the Training Department, this recognition is much more than a symbol: "This is an important milestone that not only reinforces the credibility of our training, but also our sustainable contribution to skills development in the mining sector."

Since its inception, TFM's training center has already trained more than 9,000 candidates in various fields: maintenance, plant operations, mobile equipment, health, safety and environment (HSE), languages and IT. These training courses are complemented by a structured internship programme, promoting rapid professional integration. As part of its societal commitment, TFM has also built two social promotion centers in Fungurume and Tenke, facilitating local communities' access to skills training and new economic opportunities. Five other social homes are planned, in accordance with the specifications signed with local stakeholders. The official approval thus reinforces TFM's positioning as a key player in human development in the region, well beyond its mining activities.
